Hello
Hello, I’m Ian. I’m a father of two, husband (of just one) and have a very interesting job of which, more in a moment. Before I get around to hawking my wares at you, I’ve recently noticed that this website’s traffic has started to pick up somewhat - so don’t be shy, drop me a line and let me know who you are and what you think. I like letters (don’t we all?) and I usually reply.

Thanks for stopping by my web site. I am a writer specialising in narrative non-fiction, travel and humour books. I also have a regular column in The Daily Telegraph, called Strange Days which focuses on curious and undiscovered aspects of Britain.

My latest book, The Lie of the Land, was published on June 4 by Macmillan and, in support of it, I have set up an organisation that celebrates the exotic delights of the UK’s countryside: The British Landscape Club. To order the book on Amazon go here or to get signed copies direct from me, click here.

Before that the last book, Three Men in a Float, a tale of an epic journey across England in a 1958 milk float, with a maximum speed of 15mph, was written with Dan Kieran and has been out for a while now. For more information, photos and videos from the trip, go to
www.threemeninafloat.com

I'm available for talks and lectures on the subject of being an author in the world of publishing, with special emphasis on the role that electronic media plays in the industry and how to make the most of the new opportunities to interact with your readers. To drop me a line about this or anything else on this site head on over to the contact page.
